Ambala
Ambala is a city in Ambala district in the state of Haryana in India. It is situated on the border of two states of India which are Punjab and Haryana. The city has been divided into two areas – Ambala city and Ambala cantonment, also known as Ambala cantt in short. The distance between the two areas is approximately around 3 km. The climatic conditions of this city are hot during summers and unbearably cold during winters. The ideal time to visit this city would be anytime between October to March.
It is believed that the Ambala district was found by Amba who was a Rajput during 14th century AD. Hence the city was named as Ambala. And it is also believed that the city of Ambala had been named after the famous goddess “Bhawani Amba”.
Ambala is called the “City of scientific instruments” as it is popular for surgical instruments and scientific industries. The city is equally renowned for its best production of cotton, flour and processed food. The city also deals with making of handicrafts like bamboo furniture and cloth weaving.
