Ambala Weather

Ambala is one of the districts of Haryana state in India which is located on the border of Punjab and Haryana. Ambala has been divided into two sub areas, Ambala city and Ambala cantonment. It is believed that the city was found by a Rajput called Amba, and hence the city was named as Ambala. Another belief is that the city is named after the goddess Amba Bhawani whose temple stands even today in the city. It is also believed that it was originated from the Amb Village which means the village of mangoes.

Ambala district plays a prominent role in tourism due to its geographical location. Tourists who wish to travel to states like Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab will have to cross this city, whether it’s by road or rail. This is indeed an added advantage to tourists as they can cover maximum places on their way.

Ambala Weather The climatic condition of Ambala city can be categorized as a universal type of weather. It is extremely hot during summers and winters are unbearably cold. The best time to visit this city is between October to March. Summer commences from March and continues till June. The temperature during summers can easily rise up to 45 degrees. Moderate temperature is around 35 degrees. May is the hottest month of the year. Tourists who wish to travel during this month might experience discomfort due to excess heat. Hence it is advisable not to plan your travel in the month of May.

July, August and September represents the monsoon season. Monsoons in Ambala city is more or less similar to other parts of the state. The humidity level during the monsoons is much higher than that of summers in this city. Travelers should definitely avoid this season as well to ensure they don’t end up having an unpleasant stay due to its humid weather. Weather post monsoons during October and November and are comparatively cooler and pleasant.

Then comes the much awaited season of the year which starts from December. The lowest temperature during winters can be around 4 degrees. And the highest temperature in winter season is around 17 degrees. One must carry woolen clothes as the temperature is freezing during winters. However, this weather makes it ideal to be going around the city and enjoying the wonders that the city and the cantonment area holds for visitors.

So if you are planning a trip to Ambala then the ideal time to visit would be between October and March.
